BUILD A HEALTHIER HEART

We recently participated in the Cape Fear Heart Walk, and wanted to share these quick tips on building a healthier heart, from hostetlerarchitecture.com:

*  TAKE A TEN MINUTE WALK

     “Start small, or add 10 minutes to your daily routine.

*  GIVE YOURSELF A LIFT

     Start with light weights for your arms and work towards heavier lifts.

*  EAT MORE PRODUCE

     Add just one extra fruit or vegetable a day.

*  MAKE BREAKFAST COUNT

     Start your day with quality nutrients.

*  STOP DRINKING YOUR CALORIES

     Hydrate–with water!

*  HAVE A HANDFUL OF NUTS

     Healthy fats are filling and nutritious!

*  SAMPLE THE FRUITS OF THE SEA

     Eat seafood at least once a week.

*  BREATHE DEEPLY

     Lower your blood pressure with a few deep breaths daily.

*  WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN

     Handwashing…it works!

*  COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

     Choose a gratitude attitude.
